New poll finds 62% don’t trust President Obama to stop Iran from building nuclear weapons.

MEME-obama-Iran(Washington, D.C.)  — As the Obama administration continues making a series of missteps in foreign policy, Americans are losing confidence in their Commander in Chief.

From Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to Syria’s use of chemical weapons to the Benghazi situation in Libya and the near-breakdown of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Americans do not see the White House and State Department  providing strong, steady, principled, bipartisan leadership. Rather, they see confusion, weakness, and vacillation.

Now a new poll finds that a significant majority of Americans are anxious that the President cannot be trusted stop Iran from building nuclear weapons, one of the most important national security issues facing the U.S., Israel and our Arab allies.

As we geared up for the release of The Auschwitz Escape, my publisher, Tyndale House, and I commissioned a national survey to help us better understand how Americans view the current geopolitical issues in light of the history of the Holocaust.

Working with McLaughlin & Associates, a nationally respected polling firm, we asked 1,000 likely U.S. voters numerous questions. One of them was: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: ‘As a result of President Obama drawing a red line on the use of chemical weapons in Syria, but then refusing to take military action when chemical weapons were used, I do not have confidence that when Mr. Obama says he will not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon that he can be trusted to keep his word’?”

The results were sobering.

  • 62.3% of Americans agreed with the statement, saying they do not trust the President to stop Iran from building The Bomb
  • 30.5% of Americans disagreed with the statement, and do trust the President to stop Iran
  • 7.2% said they don’t know

Americans’ distrust of the President is of particular concern given that 80% of the public says they fear a “Second Holocaust” — the annihilation of the six million Jews in Israel — if Iran gets The Bomb. What’s more, 68% of Americans say they fear a “nuclear holocaust” here in the homeland if Iran is allowed to build nuclear weapons.

I will provide more analysis of this in the days ahead.

Meanwhile, here are some of the other results of the poll we have released so far:

Mainstream Media Warns: Fort Hood Shooter Was “Stockpiling Weapons and Ammunition”

As investigators attempt to put together the pieces surrounding the most recent mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, it didn’t take long for the mainstream media to begin fabricating its own narratives as to why Ivan Lopez may have targeted twenty soldiers last week.

Following reports that Lopez was an outspoken critic of previous mass shootings via his Facebook page and that he was suffering from symptoms related to post-traumatic stress disorder, CNN’s Pamela Brown says she spoke with an anonymous source who indicates the disturbed shooter was stockpiling large amounts of ammunition, having returned to the local Killeen, TX gun shop where he bought his gun on multiple occasions to purchase additional rounds.

And though Brown spent all of 20 seconds explaining the ammunition connection in the video report below, at no time did she mention that Lopez owned or purchased anything other than the .45 caliber handgun he used to commit the shooting.

Yet that didn’t stop the CNN editorial team from running a prominent headline suggesting Lopez, “Stockpiled Weapons, Ammunition.”

Within the report itself, CNN claims Lopez purchased a “large amount of ammo,” and they even included a graphic in their news report of what a bulk purchase of ammunition might look like, though Brown failed to specifically mention how much ammunition was actually purchased:

You can view the CNN video report below, but pay attention because if you blink you might miss it (starts at about 0:40):

Army specialist Ivan Lopez was creating a stockpile of ammunition.

Sources say when Lopez bought his 45 caliber semi-automatic handgun at this store, Guns Galore, in Killeen, TX on March 1st, he also purchased what one source calls a ‘large amount of ammo.’

CNN has also learned that the 34-year old returned to the store repeatedly to buy even more bullets.

(Watch at CNN)

It’s not clear where CNN gleamed this information, how much ammunition was purchased, or how it is relevant to the investigation itself.

The fact that CNN chose to run a headline indicating that the stockpiling of ammunition also included a weapons cache is indicative of a new narrative being formed, likely to be followed up by more ‘extremist’ behavior that may include visiting ‘radical’ web sites or forums.

In December of 2011 Senator Rand Paul gave a speech on the House floor in which he warned Americans of activities that were now considered terrorism by the U.S. government. Paul specifically cited the storage of ammunition and guns as red flags for law enforcement and national security officials:

Know good and well that some day there could be a government in power that is shipping its citizens off for disagreements. There are laws on the books now that characterize who might be a terrorist.

Someone missing fingers on their hands is a suspect according to the Department of Justice. Someone who has guns, someone who has ammunition that is weatherproofed, someone who has more than seven days of food in their house can be considered a potential terrorist.

If you are suspected by these activities do you want the government to have the ability to send you to Guantanamo Bay for indefinite detention?

This latest “investigation” by CNN seems like an obvious attempt to engage in a strategy of predictive programming, whereby they are hinting to the American public that those who store, collect or stockpile ammunition and guns are a danger to society and should be reported as such to officials.

Democrat calls for Obama to ban “assault weapon” imports due to Democrat gun-running of “assault weapons”

Instead of banning “assault weapons”, I’d suggest banning progressives instead. After all, you can’t be a Marxist and honestly take an oath to uphold the Constitution.

Rep calls for President to ban “assault weapon” imports due to Yee case

Citing the fact that now-suspended California state Sen. Leland Yee allegedly planned to help bring illegal guns into the country, Rep. Jackie Speier, (D-CA), is calling for the President to ban the import of ‘lethal assault weapons.’

This announcement came Wednesday from the Congresswoman, who represents the same district that Yee hailed from.

“This FBI investigation of Leland Yee reveals how easy it is to import lethal assault weapons that were previously banned,” said Speier in an emailed statement from the Representative’s office to Guns.com.

“This case should be a warning to us all that even the most trusted appearing among us are ready to do real harm,” she said.

Her solution to fix future instances of potential gun running such as in the Yee case? Call on the White House to ban the import of “assault weapons.”

“Since Congress can pass no meaningful gun-control laws, even after the mass killing in Newtown, President Obama should use his pen to slow the import of these weapons, which have no place in our homes,” wrote Speier.

Yee, who up until last month was a member of the Californian State Senate and candidate for Secretary of State, was indicted on March 26 on charges that included numerous counts of public corruption and weapons violations. The latter, according to a 137-page affidavit filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, included helping to broker a deal with Islamic rebels in the Philippines for $ 2 million in military-grade weapons up to and including shoulder-fired missiles. These munitions would be smuggled from the Pacific to a port in New Jersey and were intended for criminal, not civilian use.

Jackie Speier is a useless hack. Her fellow Democrat planned to violate dozens of federal, state and local laws by importing weapons for Islamofascist terrorists. And writing new laws would help… how?

68% of Americans fear a “nuclear holocaust” here in U.S. if Iran is permitted to build nuclear weapons, exclusive poll finds.

MEME-nuclearholocaust-America(Netanya, Israel) — Americans do not only fear that a nuclear-armed Iran would try to bring about a “Second Holocaust” by annihilating all six million Jews in the State of Israel.

They also fear Iranian leaders would try to bring about a “nuclear holocaust” inside the United States of America.

During an interview on Fox News on Sunday with anchor Shannon Bream, I  shared more of the results of the new polling Tyndale House Publishers and I conducted through McLaughlin & Associates, a nationally-respected polling firm.

Gearing up for the release of The Auschwitz Escape, and trying to understand how Americans’ fears of a “Second Holocaust” affects their views of current geopolitical issues, we asked 1,000 likely U.S. voters the following question: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: ‘If the U.S. and our allies do not take decisive action, and the Iranian regime is permitted to build nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them, the Iranian regime will one day attempt to attack the homeland of the United States and bring about a nuclear holocaust’?”

  • 68.1% agreed they fear a nuclear holocaust inside the U.S.
  • 23.3% disagreed
  • 8.6% said they did not know

Here are some of the other results of the poll we discussed:

The big question remains: Will President Obama and the leaders of the P5+1 international powers be able to use diplomacy and sanctions to truly force Iran to dismantle and abandon its uranium and plutonium development programs and all its efforts to build nuclear weapons?

If so, that would be a great blessing to the peace of the world.

But if they cannot force Iran to change course, nearly seven-in-ten Americans say they are deeply concerned that Iran’s ayatollahs and mullahs to use nuclear weapons to kill millions of Americans here inside the homeland.

A sobering thought, to be sure.
