ROVE AND BOEHNER JUST SOILED THEMSELVES: Sarah Palin Issues Ultimatum to Feckless GOP Establishment

Sarah Palin, along with millions of Americans who have been ignored, insulted and disenfranchised by their “representatives” in Washington, has had just about enough.

Please take a look at the [accompanying] article … to understand how the amnesty bill the Senate passed yesterday is a sad betrayal of working class Americans of every ethnicity who will see their wages lowered and their upward mobility lowered too. And yet we still do not have a secured border. This Senate-approved amnesty bill rewards lawbreakers and won’t solve any problems – as the CBO report notes that millions of more illegal immigrants will continue to flood the U.S. in coming years.

Great job, GOP establishment. You’ve just abandoned the Reagan Democrats with this amnesty bill, and we needed them to “enlarge that tent” of which you so often speak. It’s depressing to consider that the House of Representatives is threatening to pass some version of this nonsensical bill in the coming weeks.

Once again, I’ll point out the obvious to you: it was the loss of working class voters in swing states that cost us the 2012 election, not the Hispanic vote. Legal immigrants respect the rule of law and can see how self-centered a politician must be to fill this amnesty bill with favors, earmarks, and crony capitalists’ pork, and call it good. You disrespect Hispanics with your assumption that they desire ignoring the rule of law.

Folks like me are barely hanging on to our enlistment papers in any political party – and it’s precisely because flip-flopping political actions like amnesty force us to ask how much more bull from both the elephants in the Republican Party and the jackasses in the Democrat Party we have to swallow before these political machines totally abandon the average commonsense hardworking American. Now we turn to watch the House. If they bless this new “bi-partisan” hyper-partisan devastating plan for amnesty, we’ll know that both private political parties have finally turned their backs on us.

It will then be time to show our parties’ hierarchies what we think of being members of either one of these out-of-touch, arrogant, and dysfunctional political machines.

Palin is channeling the anger and rage felt deeply by millions of Americans — citizens of every race, color, creed and religion — who are at wit’s end. They are disgusted with a massive, unelected leviathan of a federal government that keeps creating new programs when its existing ones are bankrupt. They are disgusted with thousand-page laws that get passed in the dead of night, without being read, without debate, and without any public scrutiny. They are disgusted with representatives of both parties who act more like a nomenklatura — a ruling class — than representatives in a republican form of government.

The country is nearing a breaking point. Palin knows it. You and I know it. Millions know it.

What the Republican leadership does next could well set the stage for a political sea change.

Three Things That Doomsday Preppers Should Ask Themselves

Daniel Ameduri (www.FutureMoneyTrends.com) has spent the last six years warning Americans about the coming economic collapse, signs to look for, and how to prepare. He is the producer of numerous micro documentaries seen by over five million people via his Vision Victory Youtube Channel and regularly hosts interviews with some of the world’s leading contrarian thinkers including G. Edward Griffin, Peter Schiff, Jim Rogers, John Williams and Doug Casey.

In his latest message to viewers he discusses the three things preppers should be asking themselves.

1. What are you going to do with your wealth?
2. What are you going to do with your life?
3. Where do you draw the line?

Many of us expect a continued decline in our economy, depreciation of our currency and a significant shift in the world as we have come to know it. As a result, we’ve taken the time to prepare ourselves for any number of potential ‘events’ that could take down our power grid, leave our system of commerce at a standstill, and cause widespread civil unrest.

We’re always preparing in one form or fashion.

But one of our most important assets – our time – is often overlooked. And, rather than enjoying our lives, we may often delve so far down the rabbit hole that it’s hard to get back out.

Daniel addresses this and other issues that preppers face, including the one question that is likely on the minds of many Americans: Where am I going to draw the line?

This is the worst thing to possibly talk about. But it has to be said.

Where are you going to draw the line?

Start thinking about that now.

I’m willing to allow the government to take roughly 35% to 40% of my income, because if I don’t allow them to do that I’m not going to be able to spend any more time with my wife and kids…

I don’t like it. I think it’s wrong. I think they’re thieves. They’re bullies.

But where is the line going to be drawn. Is it going to be drawn if they come to get my weapons? Think about that. If they come to get just your weapons, and you don’t know this is going on around nationally, likely most of you will give up your weapon.

However, if it’s on the news that they’re taking everybody’s weapons, that’s a game changer. That might be where everybody says ‘no, no’ this is enough.

For some of you, you may be looking at me like I’m crazy saying ‘no way, if they knock on my door the only thing I’m going to surrender is the lead.’

Are you going to draw the line when they tax you too much? Are you going to draw the line when they want to immunize your children without you giving them consent?

Where are you going to draw the line?

That’s a rough question.

It sure is, and it’s one that each of us needs to consider, and we need to do so in a realistic manner.

Doomsday Preppers Are “Socially Selfish – Preparing Themselves and the Hell With Everyone Else”

This article has been generously contributed by David Nash of the Shepherd School. David is a  former U.S. Marine Corps non-commissioned officer and firearms instructor. He is currently an Emergency Management Planner and offers training and consulting services for Firearms, Security, Urban Homesteading, Self-Reliance, Personal Protection and Personal Preparedness through classes, workshops and the Shepherd School Website. Rebuttal: Doomsday Preppers are Socially Selfish

This Friday morning I was sad to discover an article on emergency management.com in the “Disaster Academia” section entitled Doomsday Preppers are Socially Selfish.  It amazes me how someone in emergency management that claims through her “academic” title to be intelligent fails to grasp how preppers actually contribute to safer communities.

Both federal, state, and local emergency management agencies, as well as NGO’s (non-governmental organizations) like the Red Cross constantly educate the public on the need to have basic preparedness kits to be able to take care of themselves until the emergency response resources can be organized and distributed.  The CERT program (community emergency response teams) is a federal/state program with a proven track record.  The program takes citizens with an interest in disaster response/emergency preparedness and provides training in urban search and rescue, first aid, and other vital response skills.  The goal of this emergency management program is to reduce the load on “professional” responders by using trained citizens based in their own communities. No one is better suited for CERT than preppers.

Ms. Valerie Lucus-McEwen goes on to say:

You might wonder why someone like me, who has been in the business of encouraging disaster preparedness for a very long time, is so critical of people who are doing just that. It’s because they are being socially selfish – preparing themselves and the hell with everyone else.  Instead of spending time and energy making changes that would benefit the larger community, in their very narrow focus of loyalty they are more concerned about themselves.

This is false on many levels, but I will pick out a couple.  First, if prepping is socially selfish, by logical extension so is buying car insurance.  It is spending personal resources to protect against a potential future problem.  Does Ms. Lucus-McEwen want me to pay for everyone’s car insurance if I am to have some for myself?  Prepping, like insurance, is something everyone can get, and everyone makes a decision how much they want to invest.  It is not saying ”to hell with everyone else”, its saying I am going to be socially RESPONSIBLE, and spend time and energy making changes that benefits the larger community by freeing governmental resources to go to those truly in need.  No government, organization, or person can afford to be totally prepared for everything, we have seen the devastation caused by Presidential Disasters like Katrina, Gustav, and  most recently Sandy.  The government has good plans, and some great people, and a deep pocket to pay for response, but it is not the solution to every problem, nor can it be.

She then goes on to say:

Emergency Managers can’t afford that kind of attitude.  It is diametrically opposed to everything we do. Our job is to prepare individuals and communities and jurisdictions and regions and – ultimately – the globe for disasters, knowing we won’t always succeed.  I could find statistics about how unprepared some citizens are, and then show you hundreds of active and volunteer CERT teams preparing whole communities. In major disasters (think 9-11 or the Christ Church earthquake or Superstorm Sandy), survivors for the most part WANT to help each other.

I too am a professional emergency manager, my degree is in Emergency Management, and I have responded to several large disasters during my tenure in this field.  My experience causes me to feel the exact opposite.  I cannot afford  to not assist preppers.  Personal disaster preparedness is EXACTLY what we should strive to induce in the American populace.  Personal responsibility and self-reliance has made this country great.  Instead of looking down our noses at citizen preppers, and smugly judge their reasons, we should focus on what we have in common, and learn to work with them because we, as emergency managers have more in common with preppers than we have differences.

Editor’s Note: The article referenced by David Nash has been removed by author Valerie Lucus-McEwen who cited numerous reasons for her decision to pull it from public view, including that she “wasn’t thinking this would be that controversial.” Though the original article was deleted, Ms. Lucus-McEwen notes that she stands by her original premise, which is that “DOOMSDAY Prepper’s [as opposed to DISASTER preppers] are socially selfish.” She says, “there is a difference between preparing for a major earthquake and preparing for the end of the world.” To read the original article in full, you can visit a snapshot of the page in its original state cached by Google or Bing.

The Joke’s On Us: Watch Obama and Romney Poke Fun at Themselves, Each Other

Amid one of the most hotly contested elections in U.S. history President Obama and his challenger Governor Mitt Romney take the night off from dirty politics and campaign stops to humor us a little bit.

Poking fun at themselves and each other, the duo delivers a host of zingers and one liners to an audience of well-off New Yorkers, religious leaders, political insiders and business interests.

While funny to watch, as it lightens the mood during this tense election cycle, one can’t help but wonder whether all of these people – including the Presidential candidates themselves – know that this whole thing is nothing more than an elaborate joke on the American people.

Watch and be entertained this Friday by the latest episode in this year’s Election Cycle American Idol.

Governor Romney:

The president’s remarks tonight are brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 trillion.

President Obama:

In less than three weeks voters in states like Ohio, Virgina and Florida will decide this incredibly important election, which begs the question…. What are we doing here?
