Today’s Larwyn’s Linx sponsored by: Shake up the GOP: Fire Mitch McConnell!

“The Chamber of Commerce, the Main Street Partnership, the NRSC, and lobbyists galore in Washington are coordinating attacks on conservative groups and conservative candidates for daring to champion limited government and hold the GOP accountable for breaking promises. These groups have no interest in supporting limited government and free markets. They support their government and their markets with your tax dollars.

The GOP in Washington has decided that the problem is not government, but Democrats in charge of government. And they’ve decided to punish any conservative who points out government itself is the problem. Conservative groups are attacked by Republican leaders. Conservative candidates are attacked by Republican leaders. Conservative talk radio hosts are attacked by Republican leaders.

The single biggest thing you can do to clean up the GOP is to defeat Mitch McConnell in Kentucky by supporting Matt Bevin. The NRSC attacks all came after the Senate Conservatives Fund decided to support Bevin. The attacks on Mark Levin came after he spoke kindly of Matt Bevin. The attacks on conservative candidates came after Matt Bevin became a credible candidate.

All these attacks came because Mitch McConnell would rather rule in Hell than serve in Heaven. He would rather a Senate GOP minority with himself in charge than a Senate GOP majority with himself retired.

You beat Mitch McConnell, you will find many Republican squishes with squishy soiled underwear. Until you beat Mitch McConnell, these guys in Washington will neither respect you nor fear you.” –Erick Erickson

Thanks a Lot, Mr. President: Single Mom’s Letter Goes Viral

Burroughs-VestalJust when you thought it couldn’t be tougher to be a single mom, trying to be both mother and father to her children and struggling to make ends meet, along came Obamacare.

One mom decided to vent her frustration by posting a letter to the President on her Facebook page. Yolanda Burroughs-Vestal of Palmer, Texas never expected her rant to go viral, but it has had tens of thousands of views and is still going strong.

Her “Thanks a lot, Mr. President” letter speaks to the day to day experiences that many parents – and not just single parents – have while working too many hours and making too little money. Suddenly former money problems seem minuscule in the face of the huge increase in expenses that Obamacare will bring, without any of the promised relief. (Most people are finding that once they make their monthly payments and cover their deductibles, they will have spent over $ 5000 before Obamacare ever covers a dime – and if the family is already struggling financially, who has room for that in the budget?)

Dear President Obama,

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all you have done and are doing. You see I am a single Mom located in the very small town of Palmer, Texas. I live in a small rental house with my two children. I drive an older car that I pray daily runs just a little longer. I work at a mediocre job bringing home a much lower paycheck than you or your wife could even imagine living on. I have a lot of concerns about the new “Obamacare” along with the taxes being forced on us Americans and debts you are adding to our country. I have a few questions for you Mr. President.

Have you ever struggled to pay your bills? I have.

Have you ever sat and watched your children eat and you eat what was left on their plates when they were done, because there wasn’t enough for you to eat to? I have.

Have you ever had to rob Peter to pay Paul, and it still not be enough? I have.

Have you ever been so sick that you needed to see a doctor and get medicine, but had no health insurance because it was too expensive? I have.

Have you ever had to tell your children no, when they asked for something they needed? I have.

Have you ever patched holes in pants, glued shoes, replaced zippers, because it was cheaper than buying new? I have.

Have you ever had to put an item or two back at the grocery store, because you didn’t have enough money? I have.

Have you ever cried yourself to sleep, because you had no clue how you were going to make ends meet? I have.

My questions could go on and on. I don’t believe you have a clue what Americans are actually going through and honestly, I don’t believe you care. Not everyone lives extravagantly. While your family takes expensive trips that cost more than most of us make in two-four years, there are so many of us that suffer. Yet, you are doing all you can to add to the suffering. I think you are a very selfish and cold hearted man, who does not care what is best for the people he was elected by (not by me) to represent, but more so out for the glory of your name attached to history. So thank you Mr. President, thank you for pushing those of us that are barely staying afloat completely under water and driving America into the ground. You have made your mark in history, as the absolute worst and most hated president of the United States. God have mercy on your soul!

Yolanda Vestal

Average American

Vestal said she was worrying about paying the bills when she penned the letter. “It was on my mind I had to pay bills,” Vestal said. “All I could think was, how am I going to make it to the end of the month?” BizPac Review describes her situation:

A divorced mother of two teenage daughters, Vestal also has a son who lives with his father. While she and her ex-husband work together to do what’s best for their children, Vestal said, the economy has changed, putting a financial strain on both households. She makes too much money to receive assistance, she said, but barely enough to get by.

Vestal has received offers of help, but she said she’s not looking for handouts or charity, and that’s not the reason she wrote the letter.

“I’m not worthy,” she said. “I’m one of millions.”

She merely wanted to express her opinion that legislation pushed by the administration in the last few years is hurting people.

“Right is right, wrong is wrong,” she said. “What they’re doing is wrong.”

Vestal said she’s received a few negative comments, and some critics have made assumptions about her and her children. But she said she replies with, “God bless you,” and moves on to the next message.

The president was in Dallas Wednesday night for two campaign fundraisers – including a private dinner that commanded as much as $ 32,000 per plate, according to the Dallas News.

“One plate for dinner is equal to a year’s salary for some of us,” Vestal said.

SHTF Plan – When It Hits The Fan, Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You

A single county in the U.S. spends more than $2 billion a year on benefits for illegal aliens

But I’m sure the taxpayers of Los Angeles County don’t mind. After all, they most certainly don’t need the money themselves.

A projected $ 650 million in welfare benefits will be distributed to illegal alien parents in 2013, county officials said Monday.

Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich announced the latest figures from the Department of Public Social Services, which showed more than $ 376 million in CalWORKs benefits and food stamps combined have been distributed through July to illegal alien parents for their native-born children.

Approximately $ 54 million in welfare payments are issued each month, consisting of nearly $ 20 million in CalWORKs and $ 34 million in food stamp issuances, according to the data.

An estimated 100,000 children of 60,000 undocumented parents receive aid in Los Angeles County, according to Antonovich, who said this year’s projections — up about $ 1 million from the nearly $ 53 million in total benefits issued in July 2012 — underscore the economic impact of the nation’s immigration debate.

“When you add the $ 550 million for public safety and nearly $ 500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $ 1.6 billion dollars a year,” Antonovich said in a statement. “These costs do not even include the hundreds of millions of dollars spent annually for education.”

With education added in, it’s safe to say that the county is spending upwards of $ 2 billion a year supporting illegal aliens.

So each taxpaying household in the county is spending $ 1,200 a year — $ 100 each and every month — supporting illegal aliens. But I’m sure there’s nothing else they’d rather spend that money on.

EVERY SINGLE PENNY: The Obamacare Speech a Real Speaker of the House Would Give

Line in the Sand, a speech by Speaker of the House ___________________

The ill-named Affordable Care Act — also known as Obamacare — has been a “trainwreck” according to its very architects since day one. From the CLASS Act, to the delay of the Employer Mandate, to exempting Congress from the law, the sheer size and complexity of this partisan bill makes it virtually impossible to implement.

I and my peers, all of us, we took an oath to uphold the Constitution. And today we are going to stand by that oath and defend the Constitution of the United States.

This bill was passed in an unconstitutional fashion — with bribes and payoffs and other skulduggery — by a single party that temporarily held power during the 110th Congress. The bill consisted of thousands of pages and not one person was permitted to read the bill before it was voted upon.

This bill fundamentally changes the relationship of the citizen to the government.

This is an unconscionable violation of representative government. Nancy Pelosi famously told us we had to pass the bill to find out what’s in it. Now we know, and it’s an unconstitutional disaster.

Because a single judge bows to some unknown pressure, and changes his vote at the last minute to rewrite a bill that is clearly unconstitutional… because, unlike every other entitlement program, Democrats had no Republican support for this bill…

Because Democrats used every underhanded tactic — bribes, payoffs and corporate reacharounds — possible to pass a bill that not one of them read before voting upon…

Because the IRS, already caught punishing groups based upon their political and religious affiliations, will be the enforcers of Obamacare… because radical, left wing groups like La Raza and ACORN will be hired as “Obamacare Navigators” with access to their political opponents’ most sensitive health care data…

Because jobs are being destroyed. Because good jobs are disappearing before our very eyes as small businesses are driven not to hire by the law. Because full-time jobs are turning to part-time jobs. Because employers are slashing benefits for spouses and other family members to adapt to a law no one read.

Because the lies that were told to sell this bill were as awful as they were brazen… Because you can’t keep your policy, you can’t keep your doctor, you can’t keep your plan, you can’t keep your insurer, and you will pay far more, not far less…

Because Democrat lobbyists and staffers are raking in million advising companies how to comply with the tens of thousands of pages of regulations that this law has spawned… Because they have built a law so complex that no one can possibly understand its effects without paying off the very people who created it!

Most of all, because the people who want Obamacare most are the very same people who have exempted themselves from the law! Obamacare waivers have been issued for Congress, staffers, unions, special interest groups…

I have a question for President Obama and the Democrats? Aren’t the American people the most important special interest group Congress serves? The vast majority of Americans want a waiver from Obamacare, just like the lobbyists and the other Beltway elites.

True to my word, Republicans will not shut down the government. We have passed a continuing resolution that funds every single aspect of the federal government except for Obamacare. Every single penny.

But we are drawing a line in the sand when it comes to the trainwreck of Obamacare. We want at least a year delay in its implementation, just like Congress, just like the unions, just like the employers subject to the mandate, and just like other Democrat special interests got.

So if Democrats want to shut down the government, so be it. The House Continuing Resolution funds the entirety of the government — every single penny — just not the trainwreck called Obamacare, which President Obama has already defunded for his pals. The vast majority of the American people have told us over and over again: we want a waiver from Obamacare too, just like Congress got.

Call up your Representative and Senators now and tell them: we want a waiver too. Pass the House Continuing Resolution and delay Obamacare now.

In a single paragraph, a commenter destroys the National Journal’s Matthew Cooper and his ‘no voting fraud’ fantasies

Writing at the hard left National Journal, someone named “Matthew Cooper” (if that is his real name), proffers the insane notion that vote fraud really isn’t a concern in the U.S.

…voter-ID laws generally represent an answer in search of a problem. There just isn’t much evidence of voter fraud…

…Civil-rights groups have been apoplectic about these laws, saying that they are discriminatory. And they would seem to have a pretty good case, as there’s no fraud epidemic and those who would have the hardest time complying with the law are poor and minorities. That’s because minorities and the poor are much less likely to have the kind of government-issued photo IDs that some states require…

Commenter Raphael Semmes shreds Cooper’s nonsense:

This article makes me lose respect for your publication. Most democracies in the world require a photo voter ID, and it is part and parcel of democracy. I have personally been an accredited international election observers in six foreign elections where the country had long required photo ID to vote. There was no suggestion at any time from ANY side that this produced any ”vote suppression” whatsoever. What it produced was an honest vote. Republicans are quite right to protect our election process, and Democrats are scoundrels to demagogue this issue. I have also worked in an election campaign, in the 4th district of North Carolina in 1972, where the election was stolen by voter fraud, so I get the fact that this is a problem that needs to be corrected.

It would seem Cooper missed the story about the “Mississippi NAACP leader sent to prison for 10 counts of voter fraud.”

And the fact that more than 50 people employed by or linked with ACORN have been convicted of voter fraud.

During the 2008 election cycle alone, ACORN was linked to as many as 600,000 bogus voter registrations. Combined with their tactics of encouraging early voting and use of absentee ballots, it is an indisputable fact that ACORN was and is responsible for widespread election fraud.

17 seconds using Google would have allowed an honest journalist to investigate vote fraud (the elections of JFK and LBJ being archetypes of Democrat vote fraud).

But because this is National Journal — and some hack named “Matthew Cooper” — we’re talking about, any connection to the truth is purely coincidental.

Related: If you read the list of things you need an ID to do, you would — if you had an ounce of intellectual honesty — admit that the entire bogus voter ID controversy is about one thing: the Democrats’ insatiable desire to destroy the integrity of the ballot box.
