QOTD: “The supporters of these [voter ID] laws say, correctly, that they do not discriminate on their face based upon race. That’s why the president cannot allow this to become a black-versus-white issue, even though black and Hispanic advocates are rightfully concerned about the impact these laws are having on their communities. The notion that this is a racial issue is only reinforced when he stands with Al Sharpton and tells that audience what it already knows to be true.” –The Atlantic

NO NEED TO PASS AMNESTY, NITWITS: Obama signed unlawful Executive Orders nullifying immigration law

Of course, none of this outrageous behavior will stop the unions and corporatists who are bound and determined to destroy the United States of America. Breitbart‘s Matthew Boyle reports:

Fully 98 percent of individuals deported from the United States in 2013 were either criminals, apprehended while illegally crossing the border, or had been previously deported, according to a new analysis from Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)… “The evidence reveals that the Administration has carried out a dramatic nullification of federal law,” Sessions said…

Obama’s well-known executive action granted virtual amnesty to so-called DREAMers – individuals who claim to have entered the country as minors under their parents’ guidance… Two are lesser known executive actions include an Aug. 23, 2013, DHS directive “expanding that [summer 2012 executive DREAM Act] amnesty to illegal immigrant relatives of DREAM Act beneficiaries” and a Dec. 21, 2012, DHS directive “reinforcing that almost all immigration offenses were unenforceable absent a separate criminal conviction.”

…Only 0.2 percent of an estimated 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S. who were actually placed into removal proceedings in 2013 in 2013 did not have a violent or otherwise serious criminal conviction on their record. Only .08 percent of the total number of illegal aliens placed into removal proceedings were neither repeat or serial immigration law violators nor convicted of a serious crime. Even with that .08 percent of removals who were not caught crossing the border or being a serial immigration law violator or being convicted of serious crimes, Sessions’ staff notes that ICE officers who communicate with his office say that there is likely some other serious security risk for allowing them to stay in the country that is cause for their removal.

The findings stand in stark contrast to liberal calls on Obama to reduce deportations. Top Hispanic Democrats recently met with Obama at the White House recently about the issue, prompting an announcement about a review at the Department of Homeland Security about how to deport illegal aliens in a more “humane” fashion.

The report was enough to prompt a chorus of outrage from Sessions’ like-minded colleagues in the House, who slammed the Obama administration for enacting amnesty by fiat.

This is another clear warning to anyone who thinks immigration reform is possible under President Obama,” said Rep. John Fleming (R-LA). “He has repeatedly shown a willingness to enforce the law selectively, while looking the other way when it doesn’t fit his agenda.”

As Sen. Sessions observes, “The Administration’s actions are breathtaking and without precedent. American citizens have both a legal and moral right to the protection our immigration laws afford; those rights have been systematically ignored, resulting in a massive loss of income and wages for the most vulnerable Americans. The Administration has abandoned its duty to faithfully execute the law and protect U.S. sovereignty, resulting not only in a collapse of immigration enforcement but a grave jeopardy to the American system of law and justice itself.”

This is truly criminal behavior on the part of this president, his party, and this administration. Remember in November.

So you’ve signed up for health care on the ObamaCare exchanges. Think you’re covered? Not quite.

Bummer.

So you’ve signed up for health care on the ObamaCare exchanges. Think you’re covered? Not quite.

As with any insurance plan, new enrollees still have to pay their first month’s premium to lock in coverage. But the deadlines for that task are different all over the country, adding to the confusion over an already-perplexing sign-up process…

The deadlines in the ObamaCare enrollment process have been a moving target. For those seeking coverage for the start of the new year, the deadline to sign up was originally Dec. 15. Then it was moved to Dec. 23, and then again to Dec. 24. Even after that deadline passed Tuesday night, the administration announced that those who ran into technical problems on HealthCare.gov could still seek an exemption and get covered by Jan. 1.

Then comes the next set of deadlines. After appeals from the Obama administration, major health insurers announced earlier this month that they would give people until Jan. 10 — as opposed to Dec. 31 — to pay their first month’s premium and have coverage effective Jan. 1.

But many states running their own exchanges have their own deadlines for first payments. Some have more than one… In Idaho, for instance, Blue Cross, Bridgespan and Select Health extended their deadline to Jan. 10. But PacificSource extended its deadline to Jan. 15. The deadlines in Washington, D.C., also depend on the insurer.

Other deadlines are earlier. California’s and Rhode Island’s is Jan. 6. Vermont’s is Jan. 7… The following states all have Jan. 10 deadlines: Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota and New York… The following states have Jan. 15 deadlines: Maryland, Oregon and Washington state…

…After the first set of deadlines, would-be enrollees still have until the end of March to get insurance, after which the federal government will begin to fine those without coverage.

Still, the administration has carved out exemptions for certain people and businesses, including those whose plans were recently canceled. The insurance industry has raised concern about these changes, warning that they could disrupt the market…

…President Obama said at his end-of-year press conference that 1 million people have signed up through the federal and state exchanges, marking a significant uptick since the Oct. 1 launch. Officials, though, were originally projecting a goal of 7 million people by the end of March.

Confused yet?

Not to worry: it’s gonna get much, much worse before it gets better.

THEY LIED TO CONGRESS, AGAIN: After Three Days, HHS Knew Less Than 250 People Nationwide Had Signed Up for Obamacare

Of course the Obama administration lied to Congress. Of course they had the true number of folks who had signed up for Obamacare through the disastrously flawed Healthcare.gov website.

Marilyn Tavenner, head of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, testified Tuesday before the House Ways and Means Committee… raising more questions about the administration’s transparency on the project, she declined to cite enrollment numbers. She did not claim, as Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius recently did, that officials simply do not have those numbers — rather, she said a “decision” was made to release them in mid-November.

They lied to Congress to hide their catastrophic failures.

One of the few real reporters left in legacy media is Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News. And her report is absolutely devastating, describing an administration whose first, second and third instincts are to lie.

For 31 days now, the Obama administration has been telling us that Americans by the millions are visiting the new health insurance website, despite all its problems… But no one in the administration has been willing to tell us how many policies have been purchased, and this may be the reason…

The website launched on a Tuesday… at a meeting Wednesday morning, the war room notes say “six enrollments have occurred so far.”

By Wednesday afternoon, enrollments were up to “approximately 100.” By the end of Wednesday, the notes reflect “248 enrollments” nationwide.

The lies and cover-ups keep coming.

Where are the Select Investigative Committees, Speaker Boehner?

Where are the Select Investigative Committees, Chairman Issa?

Benghazi, the IRS and Obamacare all deserve their own.

We, the American people, demand them!

Secretary of State John Kerry Just Signed United Nations Arms Treaty That Could Dismantle the Second Amendment

Guest post by Investors Business Daily

Second Amendment: The Senate is unlikely to ratify a United Nations arms treaty signed by John Kerry, but gun control zealots will use it as justification for “common sense” infringements on our constitutional right.

The secretary of state signed the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty on Wednesday despite repeated indications that it would be dead on arrival in the U.S. Senate. One warning was a letter from Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., that said the treaty would be rejected just like “other U.N.-sponsored treaties which threaten our country’s sovereignty.”

Inhofe reminded Kerry that the pact would “collect dust alongside the Law of the Sea Treaty, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the Kyoto Protocol, to name a few, which have all been rejected by the U.S. Senate and the American people.”

Earlier this year, Inhofe introduced an amendment to a budget proposal that would prevent the U.S. from entering into the U.N. arms treaty in order to uphold the Second Amendment. His amendment passed 53-46.

So why sign a treaty that the Senate won’t ratify into law and which some argue won’t affect domestic gun rights anyway?

Because it will give the president cover to do on gun control what he does so well on other issues — ignore Congress, the Constitution and we the people so he can govern by regulation and executive order.

The treaty will also give state and local governments an argument to restrict gun rights at the local level, despite the recent electoral smack down of two anti-gun legislators in Colorado. It will, as well, provide the courts, which are increasingly prone to take foreign laws and treaties as relevant, with leverage against the Second Amendment.

The price of liberty is eternal vigilance and it might be time for gun rights supporters to be vigilant. This treaty matters. Article 5 of the Arms Trade Treaty requires signatories to set up a “National Control List.” Country leaders who sign the treaty “shall establish and maintain a national control system, including a national control list,” which sounds suspiciously like national gun registration.

The text of the treaty also “encourages” nations to “apply the provisions of this Treaty to the broadest range of conventional arms,” causing gun rights advocates to fear that regulators will seek to limit not just so-called assault weapon ownership, but handguns and hunting rifles as well.

Trade in weapons under the treaty is to be refused to “unauthorized end use, including to individuals and groups who would commit terrorist acts.” We have noted that a paper from the U.N.’s Coordinating Action on Small Arms says that arms have been “misused by lawful owners” and that the “arms trade therefore be regulated in ways that would …. minimize the misuse of legally owned weapons.”

Would defending your home against intruders, or U.S. laws permitting concealed carry, be considered a “misuse”?

As the Heritage Foundation notes, imported firearms, considered part of the “arms trade” to be regulated, constitute about 35% of the new firearms market in the U.S.

“Under the guise of adopting what it deems to be ‘appropriate measures,’ an administration could restrict imports by redefining what qualifies as a ‘sporting’ firearm — the definition of which is left completely to the discretion of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives,” Heritage reports.

As we’ve said before, the U.S. is one of few countries that has anything like a Second Amendment. Our Founding Fathers enshrined the right to bear arms in recognition of it being the ultimate bulwark against tyrannical government. The fact that an organization full of tyrants, dictators, thugs and gross human rights violators wants to control small arms worldwide is hardly a surprise.

Somehow, assurances that this treaty won’t violate our constitutional protections — from an administration that constantly tries to infringe upon our Second Amendment rights — does not reassure us.
