familyfiction-storyFamily Fiction/Edge magazine published a cover story this month on The Auschwitz Escape.

If you are interested, you can read it by clicking here, or here.

Here are the first few paragraphs:

Many authors write about topics that intrigue them, but few others venture to write about historically sacred events, such as the Holocaust. With courage and conviction, well-known author Joel C. Rosenberg has ventured into historical suspense and done just that with his new novel, The Auschwitz Escape (Tyndale House).

In November 2011, Joel and a group of friends visited the infamous Auschwitz death camp in Poland. “It was haunting to realize that more than one million people were systematically murdered there, most of them Jews,” says Joel. While there he purchased a book to learn more about the camp. He then learned that several people actually escaped from the clutches of the Nazis at Auschwitz….

TIME MAGAZINE: Sanitized For Your Protection

You learn something every day.

Hey, you know Time puts out four covers for four different areas of the word?

I didn’t know that.

But they do. They have a US cover, a Europe/Middle East/Africa cover, an Asia cover, and a South Pacific cover.

Yeah I don’t get how they divided the world up myself.

But anyway.

So they have four covers.

Based on the covers, one person is dominating the world’s interest… but not in the whole world.

Here’s a suggestion for Time: how about different covers for red states and blue states? You could have Obama or Michelle’s guns on every cover in the blues and the latest diversion (e.g., Miley Cyrus) in the reds.

But… But… But… No One Needs More Than 10 Rounds per Magazine!

Except, of course, those who live in the real world:

Two NYPD Cops Fire 84 Rounds at Murder Suspect

A man who allegedly killed his 13-year-old half-sister survived a fusillade of bullets from New York City police officers early Tuesday, after pointing his pistol at officers.

Officers responded to a 911 call at 2971 Eighth St. in Harlem at 3:27 a.m. Tuesday.

Steven Murray, 28, had allegedly shot his mother Christine Fryar, 44, and her daughter Annie, according to the NYPD. Paramedics arrived to find the daughter dead with a gunshot wound to the head. The mother, who was also shot in the head, was transported to Harlem Hospital, and is listed in critical condition.

Police eventually confronted Murray, who was running through the surrounding neighborhood. The officers pursued Murray on foot and returned fire after he fired one shot.

NYPD Sgt. Alexander Mesa fired 39 shots, and Officer Joseph Robinson got off 45 rounds. Murray was hit 14 times, and refused to drop his weapon, reports the New York Daily News.

Murray has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Shhh: no one tell the would-be tyrant Andrew “Architect of Ruin” Cuomo.

Latest Cover of New Yorker Magazine Frightening Women, Children and Brothel Owners

I refer, of course, to this gem:

With disgraced politicians Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer running for mayor and comptroller of the big apple, New York Magazine decided to feature both of them on the cover.

The effect is rather… unsettling.

I can almost hear Igor in the background saying yes master…

Suddenly I don’t feel like eating.
