GOING POSTAL: United States Postal Service Joins Long List of Federal Agencies Stocking Up on Guns and Ammo

Guest post by Mac Slavo

Going postal just took on a whole new meaning.

Earlier this year Kit Daniels reported that the U.S. Postal Service is joining other alphabet federal agencies in stocking up on ammunition and firearms. It’s an alarming trend that has swept the nation over the last several years and one that Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Washington-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, calls “highly unusual.”

Conspiracy theories abound over the stockpiling of some two billion rounds of ammunition to date, leaving many wondering what the US government has in store for the American people.

Just last week, in the wake of the most recent Fort Hood shooting, mainstream media issued a report claiming that shooter Ivan Lopez was stockpiling weapons and ammo, when in fact he had purchased a single firearm and perhaps a few hundred rounds for it over a couple of visits to the gun store.

If his meager purchases are supposed to raise concerns with the American public and instill a sense of fear, then should we not be absolutely terrified of what our government is doing?

Earlier this year, the USPS posted a notice on its website, under the heading “Assorted Small Arms Ammunition,” that says: “The United States Postal Service intends to solicit proposals for assorted small arms ammunition. If your organization wishes to participate, you must pre-register. This message is only a notification of our intent to solicit proposals.”

Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Washington-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, said: “We’re seeing a highly unusual amount of ammunition being bought by the federal agencies over a fairly short period of time. To be honest, I don’t understand why the federal government is buying so much at this time.”

A little more than a year ago, the Social Security Administration put in a request for 174,000 rounds of “.357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow-point” bullets.

Before that, it was the Department of Agriculture requesting 320,000 rounds. More recently, the Department of Homeland Security raised eyebrows with its request for 450 million rounds — at about the same time the FBI separately sought 100 million hollow-point rounds.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration also requested 46,000 rounds.

Philip Van Cleave, president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, asked: why exactly does a weather service need ammunition?

“I don’t believe in conspiracy theories, but it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense,” Gottlieb said. “The amount of ammunition they’re buying up far exceeds their needs. It far exceeds what they’ll use — they’ll never use it all.

It certainly doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. If you, as an individual, were to purchase a thousand rounds of bulk ammunition you’d be flagged, according to Senator Rand Paul, as a domestic terrorist.

Know good and well that some day there could be a government in power that is shipping its citizens off for disagreements. There are laws on the books now that characterize who might be a terrorist.

Someone who has guns, someone who has ammunition that is weatherproofed, someone who has more than seven days of food in their house can be considered a potential terrorist.

Perhaps what the government is afraid of and what they are preparing for… is us.

They may have bugged out of Bunkerville, NV last weekend, but you can rest assured that they are licking their wounds and reorganizing. They no doubt learned a lot during this incident, and they will be fully prepared for the next one, likely with military personnel and stockpiles of ammunition in tow.

While we’d like to agree with the notion that the government will “never use it all,” all signs suggest that they are building these reserves in the event that they do, in fact, need to use them.

It’s apparent that elements within the U.S. government foresee a set of events in the near future that will require them to raise up arms against the American people. If this is the case, then the stockpiling of two billion rounds of ammunition, firearms, tactical gear, and coffins across federal agencies that all have specific guidelines set out for “national emergencies” and martial law scenarios makes perfect sense.

They are planning for something big and they are doing so at an accelerated pace.

CLIVEN BUNDY: What’s really behind the federal government’s militaristic takeover of private land?

Guest post by Investor’s Business Daily

Land Management: A Chinese solar farm that fries birds is OK, as is redrawing tortoise habitat boundaries to benefit political donors. But an American rancher grazing his cattle brings feds with sniper rifles.

It appears Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy has, at least temporarily, wonhis “range war” with the paramilitary wing of the Bureau of Land Management. Fearing another Waco, BLM has announced it will no longer enforce a court order and stop stealing Bundy’s cows, called “trespass cattle” by the feds, accused of grazing free on part of the 84% of Nevada that is federal property.

If the forces deployed in and around the Nevadan’s ranch had been deployed to Benghazi, it’s likely Glen Doherty, Ty Woods, Sean Smith and Ambassador Christopher Stevens would be alive today. If illegal aliens were grazing on the disputed property, there would not have been federal snipers perched nearby with American citizens in their sights.

The government that has detonated hundreds of nuclear weapons in the Nevada desert claimed a rancher’s meandering cattle threatened a protected species.

BLM, one of the myriad federal agencies armed to the teeth these days, would have us believe the 67-year-old rancher is a trespassing bitter clinger who isn’t paying his federal grazing fees as his cattle munch on government-owned vegetation and threaten the endangered desert tortoise.

So BLM SWAT teams descended on the ranch west of Mesquite, Nev., where cattle and the tortoise have lived in harmony for over 100 years. BLM claims Bundy owes them grazing fees dating back to 1993; he says his grazing rights predate the BLM. The desert tortoise in fact is so “endangered” in this area that the government is planning to euthanize some of them.

Nevada Sen. Harry Reid may have another reason for getting pesky cattle ranchers like Cliven Bundy out of the way. As Reuters has reported, “(Reid) and his oldest son, Rory, are both involved in an effort by a Chinese energy giant, ENN Energy Group, to build a $ 5 billion solar farm and panel manufacturing plant in the southern Nevada desert.” To mitigate this commercial land use, other land had to be set aside. That land was Bundy’s ranch.

Does the government really need to own 30% of the U.S., with the percentage in Western states much higher? The government’s agenda in this and many other land-confiscation activities is motivated by a desire to comply with a U.N. “rewilding” program that advocates pushing humans out of rural areas and into densely packed urban zones to promote what the U.N. calls “sustainable development.”

“Land … cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market,” says the U.N.’s Agenda 21 action plan. “Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice; if unchecked, it may become a major obstacle in the planning and implementation of development schemes.”

But our land can be controlled, apparently, by Harry Reid’s donors and relatives and former staffers as well as assorted globalists and Chinese investors. In their view, this land is not your land, it’s their land.

Bundy, who lives in a country founded by armed Americans resisting a tyrannical government, has objected, reviving the long-simmering Sagebrush Rebellion between residents of the West and a land-grabbing federal government.

In the end, Bundy and the people who rallied to his cause, some of whom carried firearms of their own while demonstrating , proved what the Second Amendment is all about.

VICTORY: Federal Agents Flee Bunkerville Citing “Safety Concerns”… Armed Citizen Militia Stands Down…

UPDATE [15:35 CDT] Following an early afternoon standoff with Bundy supporters and militia, the Bureau of Land Management is withdrawing federal agents from the area. There are reports of heavy traffic on I-15 as a result of a federal caravan of exiting agencies.

Bundy ranch cowboys and hands are standing by for the BLM to open the coral gates and release cattle rounded up during this week’s raid.

Communications to the area seem to have been restored. No shots have been fired.

The resolution at this time seems to be a peaceful one, despite earlier threats from federal agents that they would shoot into the crowd if they did not disperse.

You can watch a live feed (available at 15:40 CDT) with Infowars’ David Knight at Ustream.

A couple hundred years ago some domestic terrorists got together and penned a Bill of Rights for a fledgling nation. Within their founding document they included a provision designed specifically to protect its newly formed experiment from tyrannical rule by way of arming its inhabitants so as to provide a backstop for those who would attempt to supplant their natural rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

This morning we have a prime example of why the founding fathers found these steps necessary and how powerful their decree really is to ensuring the freedom of Americans.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Over the last two days thousands of supporters have made their way to Bunkerville, Nevada where hundreds Federal government agents had begun rounding up privately owned cattle from public lands and cordoning off protesters into remote desert First Amendment Areas.

What made this particular “protest” different from previous peaceful assemblies like Occupy Wall Street is that many of those who arrived in Bunkerville were members of citizen militias from around the country – and they were heavily armed.

In short, this time around our overreaching Federal government was out manned and outgunned.

As reported by Infowars, the Bureau of Land Management and other Federal agencies have made the decision to pull their militarized assets out of the area.

A day after Infowars blew the lid on Sen. Harry Reid’s link to the BLM’s land grab of the Bundy Ranch, the Sheriff of Clark County, Nevada, Douglas Gillespie, announced to tremendous applause Saturday that the Bureau of Land Management would cease their efforts targeting cattle rancher Cliven Bundy.

In an emotional response, Bundy told the Sheriff he had one hour to disarm the federal agency and to bring the arms to the platform where speeches were made this morning, and to take down their barricades.

According to a statement issued by the BLM, their primary reason for ceasing operations is because of safety concerns.

Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public.”

“We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner.

The “information on the ground” is that there are thousands of men and women standing by and that they were prepared to take action had it become necessary.

Though the government still maintains a court order for the rounding up of cattle, they have for the time being made the decision to walk away. This is not to say they won’t return in the future, but for today, the people are victorious.

Consider how these events would have played out had those who arrived to support the Bundy family not been armed; if they had simply showed up with protest signs and cell phones.

The end result would likely have looked more like this:

occupy-wallstreet

Rather than being tied up and pepper sprayed, the brave Americans who ventured to Bunkerville held their ground, 2nd Amendment in hand, and the government determined it was no longer in their best interests to pursue the matter.

A new day has dawned in America. One where the people see that real change can happen.

Activism really does work. This incident has proven that the Patriots and the militias are worthy adversaries.  We have proven the power of social media and alternative news in the fight against tyranny. (Daily Sheeple)

The events of Bunkerville, Nevada show that the government, which so badly wants to control every aspect of our lives, can be defeated and sent packing.

Federal Snipers Train Guns on Family For Filming Cattle: “Outside the Bounds of Designated First Amendment Area”

Editor’s Note: This is what it has come to. Paul Joseph Watson of Infowars explains.

first-amendment-area-2

Federal snipers with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) trained guns on members of a family yesterday after they dared to stop and take video footage of cattle outside the bounds of a designated “First Amendment Area,” before arresting one of the men for non-compliance.

The cattle were being rounded up by BLM officers as part of a crackdown on Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who has refused to pay “grazing fees” demanded by the feds as a result of a re-classification of 600,000 acres of federal land in northeastern Clark County which Bundy claims has been in his family for generations.

Some fear the dispute could turn into a Ruby Ridge-style violent standoff because Bundy has said he is prepared to become a martyr for what he perceives as a constitutional stance against tyranny.

As we reported earlier, the feds have now started rounding up Bundy’s cattle in the name of protecting a supposedly endangered species, the desert tortoise, forbidding Bundy from interfering or even entering the vast area. The case is quickly turning into another iconic battle between big government and a besieged family.

Fears that the confrontation may turn violent and concerns that Bundy is drawing increased support from liberty activists and the local community prompted the feds to tape off two ridiculous “First Amendment Areas,” outside of which free speech in support of Bundy is banned. A sign placed inside the area reads “Welcome to Amerika – Wake Up” alongside a hammer and sickle logo.

When Bundy’s family members violated that rule yesterday in an attempt to peacefully document the cattle roundup, they were met with a barrage of loudspeaker warnings and four BLM snipers with their guns trained on the dissenters.

“Several members of the family had gone out for a drive in several vehicles to try to monitor the ongoing federal action to remove their father’s cattle from the range,” reports the Moapa Valley Progress. “They were not travelling on recently restricted federal land, but were travelling along the state highway looking north across the valley for signs of cattle, Ryan Bundy said.”

“He was doing nothing but standing there and filming the landscape,” Bundy said of his brother Dave. “We were on the state highway, not even off of the right-of-way. Even if they want to call [the area that we were filming] federal land; which it’s not; we weren’t even on it. We were on the road.”

None of the family members were armed, but as soon as Dave Bundy began filming the cattle in the distance, 11 BLM vehicles each with two agents arrived and surrounded him.

“They also had four snipers on the hill above us all trained on us. We were doing nothing besides filming the area,” said Ryan Bundy.

The family were told to leave the area via loudspeaker because they had violated the crudely established “First Amendment Area”.

“They said that we had no first amendment rights except for up by the bridge where they had established an area for that,” Bundy said.

When Dave Bundy didn’t immediately heed the warning and return to his vehicle, a dog was set on him and he was subsequently arrested.

“He was filming and talking on the phone, I don’t know to whom,” Ryan Bundy said. “It happened pretty fast. They came down on him hard and had a German Shepherd on him. And then they took him.”

When Dave Bundy’s father Cliven attempted to contact emergency response in both Mesquite and for Metro in an attempt to discover the whereabouts of his son, he was told to, “get off the phone or he would be arrested,” according to Ryan Bundy.

Should the Bundy case escalate any further, what has up to this point remained a largely local news story threatens to explode into a national controversy – re-igniting resentment over big government and a federal bureaucracy increasingly trampling on the rights of the American people to be left alone.
