QOTD: “I noticed a few days ago, you had a guest post that mentioned ICE’s FY 2013 report on illegal immigration.
If you look closely at it, there are some frightening numbers to be found.
Of the illegal aliens (133,000) caught inside the U.S., 82% had been previously convicted of a crime. 52,000 of this group had convictions for violent felonies!
At the border, of the 235,000 caught, 45% had criminal records. 21,000 were violent felons.
These numbers, especially the “caught at the border figures”, put to rest any claim that these are just hard working people looking for jobs.
Instead, we are importing the worst of Mexico and Latin America.” —The Machiavellian
“They call it the affordable health plan. There’s nothing affordable about it. I can’t afford it.“
A local news station brings viewers inside one Pennsylvania company as the employees there learn about their new health care plans under Obamacare…
“Look at the numbers,” says the reporter of two employees. “Jeff and Dave used to have a $ 1,250 deductible. Since Obamacare went into effect, it’s now jumped 60 percent to $ 2,000. That’s nothing compared to Brian, Kristi, and Judy who have kids. they are going to pay twice that, four grand.” The reporter adds that co-pays are being increased, too.
“I don’t know how President Obama thinks he’s helping us because we can’t afford this, we can’t afford to pay these co-pays, to pay these deductibles on what we’re making,” says one of the workers.
Now pretend you’re in the GOP Establishment.
What would you do to exploit the tidal wave of rage washing over the countryside as Americans discover what socialized medicine really means?
If you answered “Pass Amnesty for Illegal Aliens“, you have a future working for Karl Rove and the Chamber of Crony Capitalism.

Lopez-Bautista, at his trial, called this a land of opportunity. Why, yes it is, for enterprising criminals from Mexico.
BALLSTON SPA — Antonio Lopez-Bautista, an immigrant who entered the country illegally and attacked and sexually assaulted a 67-year-old woman on the city’s west side last May, was sentenced Monday to spend a determinate sentence of 11 years in jail.
After he serves the sentence, he will be deported to his native Mexico.
Lopez-Bautista, a 19-year-old resident of South Federal Street in Saratoga Springs, was convicted of attempted kidnapping, sexual abuse, two counts of assault and criminal obstructions of breathing. He was acquitted of another assault charge, first- and second-degree robbery and attempted rape.
The violent attack was captured on surveillance video and showed Lopez-Bautista sneaking up to the victim’s car and opening the door, pulling her out, dragging her down the street and ripping off her clothes. The victim was waiting for her husband to leave work at about 4 a.m.
…Before he was sentenced, an interpreter read two letters on behalf of Lopez-Bautista, one written to the victim and the other to the judge. In the letters, Lopez-Bautista apologizes many times and asks for mercy from the judge. He also says his inebriated state, from an abundance of alcohol and cough syrup, is to blame for mistaking his victim for a political oppressor in Mexico.
…On Monday, new information regarding Lopez-Bautista’s illegal entrance to the United States came to light. He first came into the country illegally via the Arizona border in April 2009. He was deported that time, but successfully crossed into the country again one month later. He has illegally remained in the country since.
“I will never return to this country again, although it was filled with opportunity,” Lopez-Bautista wrote.
Stop the latter and you end the first.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday berated the international community for showing indifference to the threat posed by Iran, comparing Tehran to the Nazi regime and implying that the world was not fulfilling its obligation to prevent a second Jewish holocaust,” reported the Times of Israel.
“Even today, when there is broad agreement that the Holocaust should have been prevented, the world is not crying out in the face of a regime that calls for our destruction and even receives with open arms the man who represents it,” Netanyahu said, referring to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. “In the face of a state that openly calls for the destruction of the state of the Jews, everyone clears their throat in the face of the smiles. The attitude toward the State of Israel is not proportionate to the issues that are on the agenda. It also shows us that in the harassment of Jews there is thousands of years of continuity to the phenomenon of anti-Semitism.”
“Last week the Knesset witnessed one of the most important speeches that have ever been made within its walls,” Netanyahu continued in a prepared statement. “In this speech, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said that the singling out of the State of Israel is extreme and disproportionate by any reasonable standard, that it also undermines the foundations of Western civilization which is supposed to fight for both our rights and those of others. Against the attempt to deny the legitimacy of the state of the Jews, we must fight for and demand our rights.”
President Shimon Peres called on the world ”not be satisfied by condemning the Holocaust but rather join our hearts and hands to ensure that we live in a world where another Holocaust is impossible,” the Times reported. “The Holocaust is a great warning to us all. Forgetfulness is a menace, we must remember and remember to love and respect everyone no matter the color of their skin or the origin of their birth. Moses taught us that every human being was made in the image of the Lord; no one has the right to take that away. We have a duty to remember the past but also to improve the future; this is not just a memorial day but a call to us all to move ahead, never forgetting the past but never losing hope in the future.”
